DHARAMSHALA: Under the guidance of the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, TCV Selakui School organized ‘Mobile Science Exhibition Program-2013′ in Dehradun region (Tibetan) schools.

After almost 3 months of rigorous preparation for the science exhibition, a group of 76 students and 6 science teachers of TCV Selakui (led by the principal Mr. Duke Tsering) started their exhibition tour on 17 September. The mobile exhibition visited 6 Tibetan schools in Dehardun region (viz., CST Mussoorie, THF Mussoorie, CST Herbertpur, THF Rajpur, STS Paonta Sahib and TNMF Clementown) in two weeks.

Some of the highlights of the exhibition were water cycle dance, impersonation of great scientists, skit show on ‘scientific method’, release of hot air balloons, science magic show, and 25 exciting science models prepared by the students of TCV Selakui.

The culminating event of this science exhibition program will be held in TCV Selakui on October 26 which coincides with the school’s annual ‘Science Day’.

The Department of Education has initiated the Mobile Science Exhibition Program with the primary aim of enhancing students’ interest in science by popularizing hands-on science learning experience in schools. Next year, the program will be held in Karnataka state cluster schools.

The program is funded by USAID through Tibet Fund.
