The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), conducted the General Written Test in Tibetan (GWTT) and TOEFL ITP for the preliminary selection of candidates for the Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) 2025 in Delhi and Bangalore simultaneously on 11 April 2024.
Out of 66 applicants who applied for the scholarship, 61 were found eligible (34 male and 27 female). Of these, 56 candidates sat for the preliminary tests, with 5 applicants subsequently withdrawing. The top 30 qualified candidates will proceed to the interview stage in Dharamshala on May 21 and 22, 2024.
The final 6 candidates selected will depart for the United States in 2025 following the interviews. The Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious scholarship initiatives for Tibetans in exile.
Over the past three decades, the TSP has produced more than 488 graduates across various fields of study. TSP alumni play pivotal roles in serving the Central Tibetan Administration and other Tibetan organisations, constituting a vital pool of human resources within the Tibetan exile community.
Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) is administered through a cooperative agreement with The Tibet Fund (TTF), and implemented in collaboration with the Central Tibetan Administration’s (CTA) Department of Education (DoE), the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India.
