Department of Education Releases Two Children’s Animated Films

Dharamshala: The Department of Education of the Central Tibetan Administration has produced new children’s animated films that will be released on the department’s Tibetan language learning website and YouTube channel. The episode can be accessed via the links provided.

The first is a three-dimensional animated series titled “Tenzin’s World,” specifically six chapters (Sagadawa Month), from the children’s animation series. The second is a two-dimensional children’s musical animation called “His Holiness and His Family.” These films will be broadcast on 25 and 30 June 2025.

Generally, animated films benefit both children and adults, but they especially help young children develop language skills, introduce cultural concepts, promote physical and mental well-being, teach moral lessons, and provide exposure to science, mathematics, music, and other arts. As is widely recognised, animation has become one of the most effective teaching methods in modern education, opening new pathways to children’s consciousness and learning.

In response, since 2016, the Department of Education has launched a project to produce both three-dimensional and two-dimensional children’s animations, aiming to create as many animations as possible specifically for Tibetan children.

The children’s animation project has been supported by Tibetan communities in Switzerland and Liechtenstein through the Swiss Representative Office, as well as by Tibetan community associations in North America through the Office of the Representative of North America.
