Dharamshala: The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, has released an educational animated children’s song video on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Four Principal Commitments in celebration of the Year of Compassion and Tibetan Teachers’ Day.
As this year marks the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama, the Central Tibetan Administration is celebrating it throughout the year as the “Year of Compassion” globally. Additionally, the 8th Tibetan General Conference on Education adopted a resolution to designate the birthday of former Kalon Tripa and Professor Kyabje Samdong Rinpoche, observed on 5 November, as Tibetan Teachers’ Day, to be widely celebrated in Tibetan schools in exile.
On this first observance of Tibetan Teachers’ Day, Wednesday, 5 November 2025, the Department of Education extends its heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all teachers and students. In celebration of these two occasions, the Department has produced an educational animated children’s song video titled “His Holiness’ Four Principal Commitments,” which has been released on the Department’s Tibetan language learning website, YouTube channel, and other social media platforms.
Animated videos are increasingly recognised as an important educational tool, offering an age-appropriate way to engage children and foster learning. In line with this, the Department of Education has been implementing a project since 2016 to produce two-dimensional and three-dimensional animated children’s videos.
