Dharamshala: The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, held a five-day meeting with Social Science teachers from Tibetan schools to finalise a Social Science textbook for class X Tibetan students from 17 to 21 November 2025.
This meeting thoroughly reviewed the textbook draft prepared by its editor Passang Tsering as per the Basic Education Policy for Tibetans in Exile, the core curriculum framework for 10th grade, and a meeting convened to contents development.
It was attended by Geden Dhondup, head of the Department’s Textbook Section; textbook editor Passang Tsering; Ven Tenzin Kunga, the member of secondary schools’ textbook review committee and history lecturer at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarah; Social Science teacher Tenzin Wangchuk from TCV; Social Science teacher Tenzin Yangkyi from Mewoen Tsuglag Petoen School; Social Science teacher Yangdon Tashi from TCV, Chauntara; and Social Science teacher Lobsang Dhondup from THS, Rajpur.
After completing the final review and editing, the textbook will be printed and distributed to schools. The entire expenses for this meeting were generously supported by DANIDA.
