Mr. Ngodup Tsering, Kalon for Education, CTA arrived at Phende Ling Tibetan settlement, Mainpat on August 18th. He was warmly received by the settlement officer Mr. Kalden Norbu, the chairman of local Tibetan assembly, camp leaders, school’s headmaster, the head of the local health Center, and head of Men-Tsee-Khang at camp no. 1.
After brief interaction with the camp leaders and local heads, Honorable Kalon accompanied by the settlement officer and chairman of the local assembly visited CST school Mainpat. He was presented with some Tibetan cultural-show items by the students of the school. Mr. G. Dattu, headmaster of CST Mainpat school, the concerned teachers and students also welcomed Honorable Kalon with Tibetan ceremonial scarf. Honorable Kalon addressed the teachers and the students of CST Mainpat in which he stressed on the importance of education, moral values and roles of parents. At the school assembly, he thanked and expressed gratitude to Indian teachers and the Government India for their continuous support.
After the morning assembly, Honorable Kalon visited each and every class and interacted with the teachers and students individually and collectively. He also observed the teaching learning activity of every class including the pre-primary section run by STSS. Moreover, he inspected the hostels and interacted with hostel warden and matron as well.
In the afternoon, he visited monasteries and all the seven camps of the settlement.
