The K J Somaiya Centre for Buddhist Studies, in Mumbai, was inaugurated in 1993 by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and is today one of the premier institutions in India in Buddhist Studies. We have received a very prestigious grant from the Khyentse Foundation, to support a native Tibetan Language teacher at our centre for three years and we are inviting applications or the post.
Interested candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree with Tibetan as a subject and should have between 3 to 5 years of experience as a language teacher. Candidates who have a Degree or Diploma in teaching of Tibetan recognized by DoE, CTA Dharamshala will be preferred.
Fresh graduates with an excellent academic record may also apply.
The selected candidate will also have an opportunity to add to their skill set, at the K J Somaiya Centre for Buddhist Studies as well as at other institutions on the 60 acre campus of Somaiya Vidyavihar.
In addition to educational qualifications, we are looking for candidates who have a spirit of adventure and are willing to make the effort to settle in a new environment.
Salary: Rs 30,000 pm plus a simple accommodation in Mumbai. A once a year re-imbursement of travel expense to and from the home location.
