The much-anticipated 3-day Teacher Professional Development (TPD) Seminar commenced on 12 September 2024 at Thumi Hall, Administrative Training and Welfare Society, organized by the Department of Education (DoE), Central Tibetan Administration, Dharamshala. The seminar aims to provide a platform for teachers to share experiences, celebrate professional growth, enhance research skills, and foster collaboration, promoting innovation and evidence-based practices in school-based TPD activities.
A total of 26 participants, including 9 speakers, were selected from 45 registered teachers, with three additional speakers invited. Over the next three days, the speakers will share insights based on their school-based TPD activities and their professional journeys.
At the beginning of the seminar, Mrs. Tsering Yangkyi, Under Secretary of the DoE, welcomed the participants. This was followed by an opening presentation by Mr. Tenzin Dorjee, Head of the Academic Section, who outlined the seminar’s objectives and explained the selection process for participants. He also reflected on the 10-year journey of School-Based Teacher Professional Development in Tibetan schools, highlighting successes and challenges.
