Kollegal: Education Kalon (Minister) Tharlam Dolma Changra, accompanied by Tsering Dhondup, Director of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (STSS), and Tsering Yangkyi, Under Secretary of Department of Education (DoE), CTA, arrived at Kollegal Dhondenling Tibetan Settlement on 21 July 2024.

Upon their arrival, the group led by Education Kalon was warmly received by the local Tibetan dignitaries, including Settlement Officer Gelek Jungney, the President of the Local Tibetan Assembly, and Camp Leaders.

On 22 July 2024, Education Kalon visited Kollegal-based Sambhota Tibetan School, where she attended the morning assembly and observed student activities. She imparted valuable advice to the students, emphasising the importance of education, the dangers of bad habits such as smoking and substance abuse, and the necessity of maintaining a healthy mind and body.

Following this, the Kalon observed classroom teaching, providing necessary guidance to teachers and students based on her observations. She then toured all the departments and sections of the school, including the pre-primary sections.

Kalon Tharlam Dolma also met with parents, offering guidance on raising children and instilling good habits. At the end of the day’s program, she held a separate meeting with the school staff, discussing the roles of teachers in-depth and emphasising the importance of compassion and patience as essential qualities for teachers.

On 23 July morning, Education Kalon departed for Hunsur where she is scheduled to observe daily routine of students and meet with parents and staff on the following day.
