DHARAMSHALA: The selection process for Tibetan Scholarship Program (TSP) 2017 is currently underway at Nyatri hall in Gangchen Kyishong, the seat of the Central Tibetan Administration. “A total of 89 students have applied for the scholarship, out of which 74 have turned up for today’s selection process,” said Mr. Kelsang Rinchen, head of the Scholarship section, Department of Education. “The General Written Test on Tibet (GWTT) is being held today. The results of the written test will determine the selected applicants for the final interview on 10 and 11 May,” he added. Based on the GWTT, interview results and the candidates’ academic performance, top 15 applicants will be selected for TOEFL test orientation.
After the final TOEFL test, around 6 to 7 students will be selected for the 2017 Tibetan Scholarship Program.
The Tibetan Scholarship Program is sponsored by ECA and administered through a Cooperative Agreement with The Tibet Fund, in collaboration with the Central Tibetan Administration’s (CTA) Department of Education (DOE).
Applications are accepted from eligible Tibetan refugees residing in India and Nepal for a two-year Master’s degree program in the United States, pending availability of funds.
