The Department of Education is pleased to announce a NEW academic award scheme for class X students beginning this year (2020). Each Sikyong Excellence Award consists of an award money of INR 25,000 along with a certificate of appreciation. It will be awarded to 10 Tibetan students securing 95% and above in Class X board examination with a minimum of 75% in Tibetan.

This award is presented to motivate and reinforce students to do their best. It is also a recognition of their efforts and accomplishments. It hopes to inspire them to perform better and excel in their studies so that they can confidently pursue their goals to become contributing members of our community.

All eligible candidates must submit the following documents to the Department of Education by June 10, 2020:

1. Attested Copy of first and last page of applicant’s Green Book.
2. Attested Copy of Class X mark sheet.

The Sikyong Excellence Award will be distributed during the birthday celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, July 06, 2020, at Tsuklagkhang, Dharamsala. To receive this award, the following allowances will be made by DOE to the student with an escort for which the original bills must be produced:

1. Travel by AC II Tier Train or AC Bus
2. Dearness Allowance of Rs.300/- per day
3. Room Rent allowance of Rs. 500/- per day
