WASHINGTON, DC: The Graduate Scholarship Selection Committee of the Dalai Lama Trust has announced the 2014 recipients of the Dalai Lama Trust Graduate Scholarships.
“Every year the trust receives applications from outstanding Tibetan students who are engaged in graduate level studies. The number and quality of the applications reflect the continuing progress of the Tibetan community and the positive development through His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s advice and encouragement to young Tibetan students to engage in professional and high level studies,” the committee said in a statement.
“The students from Tibetan refugee schools have gained admission to some of the top universities in the world, showing high standards of education and clearly demonstrating that our schools are producing outstanding students. This year’s and previous years’ recipients are engaged in high level graduate studies in science, humanities and social sciences at major international universities. We would like to congratulate this year’s recipients.
“The Trust received a large number of outstanding applications and regrets being unable to fund each and every applicant.
