The Department of Education, CTA happy to share the information which we received that the applications are invited for entry October 2014 – Williams Papworth Studentship, Cambridge

The first holder of the Williams Papworth Studentship, having completed a year at the Judge Business School, has now graduated from the University of Cambridge with an M.Phil. in Management Studies.  Sangji, who is from a modest family living in a remote area on the Tibetan Plateau, is now planning to join an European enterprise working to bring infrastructure improvement and employment to his home region of Western China.

The next round of applications to the University of Cambridge and its Colleges, for those that wish to apply for the next academic year to start their studies in Cambridge in October 2014, will be beginning shortly.    The application process is clear but complex and timing is critical. This opportunity is suitable for postgraduate applicants.

The aim is to fund studentships for people from the Tibetan plateau or from surrounding or related regions or countries. Applicants for studentships will already have a degree or degrees, or they may have other indicators of their potential.  Preference may be given to those from Tibet or those who are connected ethnically or culturally with Tibet or Tibetan Buddhism.

There is no restriction on the subject of study. The quality and potential of the applicant to make a significant and positive contribution to the wider world and/or his or her own community is more important than subject of study, ethnicity or religious affiliation.

Student funding is full, comprehensive and flexible.

Cambridge University and its College are global and inclusive.  Increasing numbers from all continents and from many countries come to Cambridge to study, forming a friendly and welcoming community.  A wide range of courses in a variety of disciplines in Sciences, Arts, Humanities, Business and Social Studies are offered.
