The Department of Education organized a meeting on May 15-17, 2013 at Kashag Hall to review the social science text book of Class VIII in accordance with the basic education policy of CTA. The dealing subject teachers from Sambhota Tibetan School, Tibetan Children Village School, Tibetan Model School, the additional secretary of education council and editors attended the meeting.

Mr.Tashi Dhondup, additional secretary of Education Council delivered a keynote speech on the basic education policy of CTA. The review committee members had a detail discussion and debate on the social science textbook of Class VIII during the three days meeting.

Unlike before there is an innovative approach from the editors to create the social science textbook more informative and interesting subject by putting much additional information aimed to meet the needs of Tibetan Children.
