The Department of Education organized a workshop for Ngoenga staff on staff capacity building

The Department of Education organized a workshop for Ngoenga staff on staff capacity building at Ngoenga Special School, Dehradun from April 6 – 12, 2024. The workshop was attended by all staff members, including teachers, foster parents, and non-teaching staff. The seven-day workshop was divided into three main topics based on the suggestions and needs of the teachers.

From April 6-7, the workshop covered the topic of Empowering Educators: Task Analysis Techniques for IEP. This aimed to create personalized plans to support students with special needs and ensure that each student’s unique requirements and goals are addressed effectively, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

From April 8-10, the workshop covered topics on team building and conflict resolution strategies. This focused on educating and empowering staff to strengthen teamwork and create a friendly working atmosphere. During the workshop, participants learned basic skills useful for creating a culture of mindful issue management through respectful communication. Furthermore, they gained a deeper understanding of each other, recognizing their own strengths and learning how to utilize them to their fullest capacity.

From April 11-12, the workshop covered topics on Social, Emotional, and Ethical (SEE) Learning. This focused on helping staff navigate complex interpersonal relationships, understand and manage emotions effectively, and make ethical decisions in various situations.

The resource persons for the workshop were Mr. Namo Narayan Patak, Assistant Professor, who conducted the session on IEP. Mr. Karma Lekshay and Ms. Tenzin Yangkyi covered the topic of team building, while Gesh Tenzin Tselek and Ms. Tsering Palzom facilitated the sessions on SEE learning.
