Delhi: Tharlma Dolma Changra, Education Kalon (Minister), and Jigme Namgyal, Education Secretary of the Central Tibetan Administration, paid a courtesy visit to Shri Vikas Gupta, the newly appointed Commissioner of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, on 20 April 2026 in Delhi.
On the occasion of welcoming the new Commissioner, the Education Kalon provided an overview of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), outlined the rationale behind the transfer of all schools from the Central Tibetan Schools Administration, and conveyed sincere appreciation for the continued financial support extended following the transition of these institutions to the Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society.
During the meeting, concerns were respectfully raised regarding the delayed issuance of the budget notification, which was released toward the end of the fiscal year, thereby limiting the effective utilisation of allocated funds. Particular challenges were highlighted across the three budget heads of the Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society, including the insufficiency of funds for one-time procurement of essential infrastructure such as school furniture, especially in view of the large number of institutions under its administration. In this regard, a request was submitted for an enhanced budget allocation commensurate with rising costs and current institutional needs.
The courtesy meeting concluded following discussions with relevant officials at the office.
