Chief Guest, honorable Education Minister, Dr. (Mrs.) Pema Yangchen inaugurated the 3rd Career Fair at Lugsam Tibetan Community Hall on 12th September, 2018. Education Minister in her inaugural speech stressed on the importance and benefit of organizing such event to the students in making better career decision & motivated the students to ask the college representative as many questions as they can to clear their doubts. She further encouraged the students to actively participate in the Fair and make the best use of such opportunity.
Ms. Donkar Wangmo, Chief Counselor said, “the objective of organizing this fair is to provide a platform for the school students to meet the Representatives of the various professional institutes one on one and hear from them the college admission procedure, various courses offered in the said institutes, merit scholarship, fee structures etc.
This meeting with the college representatives will help the students in making better decision in choosing a college after they graduate from school”. Mr. Jamyang Wangyal, resident counselor proposed the vote of thanks.
There were about 17 professional colleges from Bangalore, Mysore & Mangalore that participated in the Career Fair. Each College was a given a booth to display information about their college and a representative made the presentation to the students visiting the booth.
Students of classes IX & above from the five big Tibetan schools viz STS Bylakuppe, STS CVP Bylakuppe, STS Kollegal, STS Gurupura and SOS TCV Bylakuppe attended the much awaited Career Fair and enthusiastically questioned the representatives of the participating colleges and extracted as much information as they could so that they feel confident in making a right choice in choosing the best college for themselves after they leave school.
This Career Fair is organized under the guidance & leadership of Ms. Donkar Wangmo, Chief Counselor, Department of Education, CTA by Jamyang Wangyal, resident counselor, South Zone Guidance & Counseling cell located at Mundgod.
A total of about 500 students and more than 50 parents attended the Career Fair. In the past, the First and Second Career Fair was held at Mundgod and Bylakuppe respectively.
