Dharamshala: The Department of Education of the Central Tibetan Administration concluded its 6th essay writing programme. The programme was initiated in 2020 by college students and school teachers to pay tribute to His Holiness the Dalai Lama with the objective to encourage and improve teachers’ professional skills, education and experience and students’ essay writing skills. Since then, it was held twice a year.
In this year’s programme, 11 teachers and 183 students participated with those selected receiving fee, acknowledgement certificates and their essays getting published on bodyiglobjong website.
After teachers expressed the need for a platform to share their thoughts and writings during a Tibetan teachers’ conference, Sherig began circulating journals in print and online.
