Dharamshala: The Department of Education (DoE) of the Central Tibetan Administration conducted a meeting from 11 to 15 November 2024 to review and finalise the Tibetan textbooks for Classes IV and V, in alignment with the elementary and primary school curriculum formulated in 2021, according to the principles of the Basic Education Policy for Tibetans in Exile.
The textbook finalisation meeting was attended by Gedun Dhonyoe, head of the Textbook Section of the Education Council; Ngodup Tenpa, Tibetan Education Officer; and Tenzin Pal, Tibetan language textbook editor from the DoE, along with Tibetan language teachers from various Tibetan schools, including Mingchung and Ngawang Jinpa from TCV, Tenzin Dolma from Mewoen Tsuglag Petoen School in Lower Dharamshala, Passang Tsering and Ven Tenzin Choetso from Gangkyi Petoen School, Jamgon from TCV Suja, Tenzin Palkyi from Lower TCV, Yeshi Palden from THS Mussoorie, and Ngawang Tenzin from THS Rajpur.
The finalised Tibetan textbooks will be issued to Tibetan schools in the upcoming academic year.
