Department of Education felicitates Tenzin Noryang, Gold Medal recipient in B. Sci. Nursing, KLE Academy

Dharamshala: Ms. Tenzin Noryang secured the highest marks in Bachelor of Science Nursing at the KLE Academy of Higher Education & Research, Belagavi Karnataka State, and was awarded gold medal at the Academy’s convocation ceremony held on Aug 19, 2021.
Department of Education (DoE), CTA, joyously congratulates her. “We are happy to present her this award as a token of our appreciation for her hard work. We also hope that many more Tibetan youngsters will be inspired to excel in their own respective academic field, “said Sonam Sangmo, Section Head of DoE’s Scholarship Section.
Tenzin Noryang was born and brought up in Mundgod Tibetan Settlement and completed her schooling from CST Mundgod. Her venture into an Indian University left her with the stark realization that she was the only Tibetan in her university, although a bit daunted, she continued to hold her spirit high, overcame the numerous barriers and hoped for a better tomorrow. Four years of sheer dedication and perseverance finally paid off when she topped her class.
Noryang gives credit to her father Tsewang Namgyal and mother Kalsang for bringing her up and for all their support during her trying times. She dedicates her gold medal to her near and dear ones who supported her financially and morally.
As for her success, she said, “Nothing comes easy and free so I took every day lectures seriously, collected notes, went to the library, and referred 2-3 textbooks for a particular topic. Adjustments were a very vital part of my nursing career where I had to adapt to things I would normally find unpleasing. But it finally paid off.
In regards to her future goals, Noryang remarked that career as a nurse is rewarding with plenty of room for advancement and development. She said, “my long term goal is to be a Head Nurse of an entire ward in a health Institute. However, to get there, I need to have a strong foundation. I believe in everyday learning and will always strive for new advancements and adapt to it”.
