Dharamshala: The Department of Education of the Central Tibetan Administration held a five-day meeting from 25 to 29 November 2024 to finalise the draft of Class IX Social Science Textbook based on the Basic Education Policy for Tibetans in exile.
The meeting was chaired by Education Council’s textbook section’s head Gedun Dhonyoe and the textbook editor, Passang Tsering. The committee members included Tibetan history lecturer of Sarah College Ven. Kunga, subject teacher representatives from schools include Tenzin Wangchuk from TCV Upper, Kunsang Dorji from Mewoen Tsuglag Petoen School, Tenzin Yangkyi from STS Chandragiri, Lobsang Dhondup from T.H.S Rajpur, Yangdol Tashi from TCV Chauntra and former Social Science teacher Ngawang Tsetan from TCV Suja.
The new revised edition of the Class IX Social Science textbook will be distributed free of charge to all Tibetan schools.
The five days meeting was sponsored by Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).
