Dharamshala: The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, organised a 10 days logic and dialectics workshop for Sambhota Tibetan Schools’ Tibetan language teachers from 16 June to 26 June 2025 at Dharamshala Administrative Training Centre. The chief guest for the training’s opening ceremony was Tsering Dhondup, Director of Sambhota Tibetan School Society, along with the workshop’s instructors Gashe Ngawang Tsundue, Dialectic and Philosophy Teacher from Mawoen Tsuglag Petoen School, and Gashe Ngawang Tashi, retired Dialectic and Philosophy Teacher of the Lower Tibetan Children’s Village School.
Initially, Tenzin Yeshi, a staff member from the Traditional Section of the Department of Education, explained that the objective of this training is to enable teachers from other subjects to increasingly use logical methods in their respective teaching curricula in the future, in accordance with His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s vision. As logic and dialectic training programs are periodically offered to teachers of other subjects, while this current training is primarily for primary and middle school Tibetan language teachers, some schools also sent interested teachers from other subjects to participate. A total of 13 teachers participated in this training program – 9 male teachers and 4 female teachers.
The chief guest Tsering Dhondup and the Instructor Gashe Ngawang in their keynote address acknowledged His Holiness’s views of the Logic and Dialectics as valuable tools for critical thinking and problem solving. Its ability to foster deeper understanding of complex subject matter of any disciplines and emphasised how logic and dialectics can enhance intelligence and cognitive abilities.
The session concluded with the vote of thanks from Tenzin Yeshi, acknowledging every teachers who has successfully attended this event despite their busy schedules.
