Department of Education Organises One Month Intensive Training on Learning Disability for Primary Teachers

Dharamshala: The Department of Education has organised a one month online Program on Intensive Training on Learning Disability for 30 Primary Teachers starting from 25 November 2022. The aim of this workshop is to strengthen the knowledge, skills and remediation of children having learning difficulties in their classroom.

Dr. Shilpa from Sensable Child is conducting this workshop. The training involves the understanding of basic psychological processes, assessment and intervention – for attention, memory and perception. Cognitive function in reading, writing, arithmetic, motor planning assessment and detailed intervention will be covered with case discussions.

In addition, deeper understanding on screening checklists of learning problems at primary level and a practical approach in accommodating and intervention strategies for Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and dyscalculia will be discussed too. The program comprises lectures, discussion, group work, role-play and assignments.

The funding for the workshop was provided by PRM.
