Department of Education Releases Children’s Animation Titled Preparing for Losar on New Year’s Day

Dharamshala: On the occasion of the New Year, the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, extends heartfelt greetings to all Tibetans, both inside and outside Tibet, as well as to all our friends and supporters of the Tibetan cause.

In celebration of the New Year, which coincides with an auspicious white Wednesday, the Department of Education is pleased to release the 3D children’s animation titled Preparing for Losar (Tibetan New Year), the fourth episode of animation series titled Tenzin’s World. This episode is now available for viewing on the Department’s Tibetan language learning website and YouTube channel. The episode can be accessed via the links provided and is also available for download.

The Department of Education hopes that younger generations of Tibetans will find this episode both engaging and educational, enhancing their understanding of Tibetan traditions.

Recognising that animated films are an increasingly important educational tool, the Department of Education has been producing animated films for children since 2016, including both 3D and 2D formats.

Animations are widely regarded as highly effective learning tools for people of all ages, especially young children. They are proven to help develop language skills, introduce cultural traditions, promote mental and physical well-being, teach moral values, explain scientific and mathematical concepts, and convey artistic expression through songs and music. Given these numerous benefits, the Department is committed to expanding its production of educational animations to meet the learning needs of Tibetan children.

All funding for this animation project has been generously provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
