Department of Education Releases Four Animated Films to Commemorate His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s 90th Birthday

Dharamshala: In celebration of the 90th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and as part of the Year of Compassion initiative, the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), launched two new children’s video songs during the Ghoton celebration — titled His Holiness and His Family and May His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Live Long.

In addition, the Department has successfully completed and released the first two chapters of the children’s animated film series based on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s ten teachings—Episode One: Saving Lives and Episode Two: Returning Found Items.

A total of four children’s animated films have so far been completed as part of the department’s educational programmes and are now available on the Department of Education’s official YouTube channel.

Animated films are highly beneficial for both children and adults, particularly for young children in developing language skills, introducing culture, fostering physical and mental well-being, presenting moral values, and nurturing musical and artistic expression.

Today, animation is widely recognised as one of the most effective educational tools and serves as a modern form of learning that stimulates children’s cognitive growth in an age-appropriate and engaging manner.
