The Department of Education is pleased to announce the recipients of the New Horizon Scholarship to the United World Colleges. The four recipients who have been accepted in their respective colleges are:-
Tenzin Gyaltsen – UWC USA (US)
Dickyi Lhamo – UWC Red Cross Nordic (Norway)
Dhesal Khando – UWC Thailand (Thailand)
Tenzin Lodoe – UWC Pearson (Canada)
“I am so happy for all the students who are selected, this is the beginning of a new world awaiting for them and full of new opportunities and I wish them all the best. It’s their sheer hardwork which has borne this fruit of success. I also want to convey my message to those who have not received the scholarship to not be disheartened. You have a life filled with opportunities and you can win it,” said Education Kalon Dr. Pema Yangchen.
“It was a hard decision as there were so many promising and wonderful candidates. It is a reflection on the CTA and the Department of Education and I look forward to welcoming the following young people to UWC later this year,” said Gauri Bhure, Head of UWC Committee (India).
Department of Education is thankful and grateful of Horizon Foundation for selecting and the respective UWC college for sponsoring our students. This will surely go a long way in life for paving a better opportunities for our students and becoming a better human being as UWC is a global educational movement with the mission to “make education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future”
