In her keynote address, Education Kalon applauded the school management for holding this workshop by employing their own Tibetan trainers to lead this event. She stressed, “It is imperative that we develop our own people to become trainers and employ them in a variety of seminars and trainings within our community to reap long-term benefits.”
Regarding the Basic Education Policy for Tibetans in Exile, Kalon Tharlam Dolma emphasised that, in accordance with the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the envision of former Kalon Tripa Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, this education policy nurtures students with holistic development. “Along with the essence of distinct Tibetan nature, it develops students’ comprehension, orientation, and moral conduct”, said Kalon while imploring the participating teachers to put their continued efforts into fulfilling the goals of this policy. To do so, the Education Kalon underscored that one must have outright faith in the intentions and endeavours of the Basic Education Policy for Tibetans in Exile.
