Education Kalon Concludes Maiden Official Visit to Tibetan Schools in Northeast India

Dharamshala: As part of her official visit to Tibetan schools in Northeastern India, Kalon Tharlam Dolma Changra from the

Department of Education (CTA) visited Dhargyeling Tibetan settlement in Tezu on 2 April 2023. 

At Tezu, Education Kalon paid obeisance to Dzogchen Ganor Rinpoche at Lhagon Jangchup Choeling monastery before visiting the region’s Sambhota Tibetan School where she addressed the students. She implored students, to maintain good health and harmony. Likewise, she urged teachers and parents at the gathering to establish a nurturing environment for the students. On the same day, Kalon also addressed the Tibetan community.

On 7 April, Kalon visited the Sambhota Tibetan school in the Tenzingang Tibetan Settlement.

At the school’s official function held in her honour, Kalon restated her remarks on the significance of health and morals in academics to the students and toured the classrooms and dormitories. 

The Education Kalon also spoke to Tibetan residents and answered their queries before concluding her maiden official visit to Tibetan schools in Northeast India. 

Kalon was accompanied by Tsering Dhondup, Director of the Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society, and DoE’s Deputy Secretary Ugyen Tenzin throughout the assessment visit.
