In the evening, the Department of Education, Department of Home, and Department of Health will jointly host a dinner reception in honour of the German delegation. The visit highlighted the continued collaboration between the Central Tibetan Administration and international partners such as Initiative Oberland Germany, particularly in strengthening educational opportunities and supporting developmental projects in Tibetan settlements.
The Initiative Oberland organisation, based in Germany, was founded in 1998 by Madame Angelika Lechi Rahim’s mother and has since been carried forward by Madame Angelika herself.
Since its inception, the organisation has supported numerous projects through the Department of Education, Department of Home, and Department of Health under the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA).
Its primary area of focus is the Mundgod Tibetan Settlement, where it has provided support to various institutions, including the Sakya Monastery, DTR Hospital, the old age home, and several other initiatives.
