Follow-up Virtual Training Support to PTAs

News

As a result of the PTA Survey conducted in January 2022, the Department of Education (DoE), CTA in collaboration with Manjushri Educational Services, Dharamsala is providing a series of follow-up virtual training to the members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) on 21, 22, 28 and 30 March 2022. A total number of 16 PTAs are participating in the virtual training.

The follow-up virtual training program aims to strengthen the functioning of PTAs. During the virtual training, the PTA members from respective schools briefed the activities conducted by PTA in their schools. The participants also provided feedback and suggestions to improve the PTA programs of DoE. Based on the briefings made by the PTA, the trainers provided the necessary guidance to improve their activities. DoE is also going to provide follow-up physical training to the PTA members of Mewoen Tsuglag Petoen School on 31 March 2022 on the same topics.

From March 2020 to February 2022, the DoE has trained 170 PTA members of 28 PTAs focusing on PTA Guidelines and Responsibilities of PTA, and distributed 191 booklets of “Responsibilities of PTA”. Last year, the DoE also provided seed money to all the PTAs for the effective implementation of PTA activities in the schools. With the hope of decline in the COVID-19 cases in 2022, the DoE is planning to visit the schools to meet the PTA members physically to provide them guidance and support to improve their activities.

The PTA follow-up training program is funded by Global Affairs Canada.
