Ghoton Scholarship Announcement for Special Education

Dharamshala: The Department of Education, CTA, is pleased to announce the Ghoton scholarship for Special Education to commemorate the 90th birthday celebration of His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama. This scholarship will be provided to 10 Tibetan students from India, Nepal, and Bhutan to pursue Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Diploma programs in Special Education / Inclusive Education. This timely initiative addresses the growing demand for qualified Special Education professionals in our community and honours His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s vision of compassion and education for all. Courses:

  • Special Education/Inclusive Education

Scholarship seat & Amount:

  • Postgraduate: 2 seats / ₹100,000 
  • Undergraduate: 3 Seats / ₹ 175,000 
  • Diploma: 5 Seats / ₹ 75,000 /Min one year course.

For continuation of scholarship one must score minimum of 60%.

Eligibility criteria and required documents:

  • Applicant must be a Tibetan refugee student who has a Green Book (GB). Applicant and his/her parents’ Green Book contribution must be paid till 2024. Information about GB must be mentioned in “Form-A” and attested by the concerned Tibetan Settlement Officer. (Upload Form-A) 
  • Those who have completed class XII, UG, or PG is eligible for this scholarship. (Upload Mark Sheets) 
  • A Resume and a Statement of purpose stating your motivation for choosing the selected course

Selection process:

  • Eligible candidates will be called for an interview.

Additional Clause:

  • Selected students must sign a bond agreeing to serve the Tibetan community for a minimum period of 2 years, if required and as directed by the Department of Education, CTA.
