The Department of Education, CTA has organized an In-service Training for Maths TGTs at NCERT from May 5-14, 2015. The main objectives of arranging this workshop were: i) to enhance the teachers pedagogical skill in teaching of math ii) children should see mathematics as something to talk about, to communicate, to discuss among them, to work together on. iii) there should be a shift in focus from mathematics content to mathematical learning environment. iv) to provide a platform to remove doubts and problems faced by teachers in their day to day classroom teaching.
The Department is very much hopeful that the teachers would make math as a part of children’s life experience which is the best mathematics education possible.
This in-service training was being attended by 16 teachers. They were from the school administration of Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society (STSS), Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV), Tibetan Homes Foundation (THF), Snow lion Foundation(SLF), Nepal and Seraje School.
The workshop is being funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (Canada).
