Kalon Ngodup Tsering and his team of Scholarship program met with officials from Vimala Association represented by Ms. Debbie Carrani and Ms. Mimmi Guglielmone on the afternoon of February 23, 2017. A special funding of new scholarship for up to 50 Tibetan high school graduate girls from India, Nepal and Bhutan was approved to pursue their higher studies. The Vimala Association is currently providing college scholarship for 25 Students.
Ms. Debbie said, “it’s the aim of the Vimala Association to improve and develop the skill and level of the girls in the Tibetan society through higher education which will lead to the real freedom of mind’. At the same time, Kalon Ngodup Tsering, while thanking Vimala Association & Nel Nome Della Donna for the funding said that, “education is a gateway for progress and development of individual, society and a community”.
The Scholarship section of the Education Department will execute the program from 2017 Academic session, and more detail on the program will be announced to the public by March 2017.
