The Department of Education (DoE) has successfully completed the installation of outdoor play equipment across four locations in Ladakh. This includes two crèches in Agling, and one pre-primary section each in TCV School, Choglamsar, and TCV Hanley. In addition to outdoor play equipment, the DoE has provided indoor play equipment, books, shelves, and other educational resources to the crèches.
These initiatives fall under the ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education) Strengthening Program, funded by USAID, which aims to enhance the facilities and educational activities of crèches in Tibetan settlements. Beyond supplying play equipment and educational materials, the DoE is committed to providing training for crèche caregivers. In the coming days, the department will offer training sessions for caregivers in the Ladakh Tibetan Settlement.
The ECCE Strengthening Program is implemented by the DoE in collaboration with the Department of Home. While the DoE oversees educational facilities and caregiver training, the Department of Home is responsible for providing additional support, including furniture, supplementary nutrition, and caregiver incentives.
