School Counsellor-oriented Workshop Titled “Career Guidance Through Psychometric and Artificial Intelligence” Commences in Presence of Education Kalon

Dharamshala: The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, commenced its six-day school Counsellor-oriented workshop from 1 to 6 September 2025 at Administrative Training and Welfare Society in Dharamshala. The workshop is designed to give participants with the practical knowledge of “Career Guidance through Psychometric and Artificial Intelligence.” The inauguration of this event was graced by Education Kalon (Minister) Tharlam Dolma Changra as the chief guest.

The session began with Jamyang Wangyal, staff from the Education Department’s Counselling Section, introducing the range of topics that will be discussed, including POCSO Act, Juvenile Act, Admission+NEET and many followed.

In her address, Education Kalon Tharlam Dolma Changra emphasised on the greater responsibility of the school Counsellors in imparting principles of Social, Emotional, and Ethical Learning (SEE) as espoused by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. She further highlighted on the wider significance of educating students on the critical situation of Tibetans inside Tibet under repressive CPC’s policy and the Counsellors responsibility in encouraging their students to commit in their studies.

Education Kalon then encouraged the participants to adhere to the ‘Ethics of Counselling’ while performing their duty by maintaining the student’s confidential personal information from the disclosure to any unauthorised individuals. She also urged the Counsellors to monitor possible school bullying and to promote anti-bullying agendas with students.

The session witnessed the participation of 22 Counsellors from different Tibetan schools in India including Sambhota Tibetan Schools, Tibetan Children Villages, and Tibetan Homes Foundation.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Tenzin Chondhen, staff of the Education Department’s Counselling Section, where he expressed heartfelt gratitude toward the programme’s sponsor, Global Affairs Canada, and the Education Kalon for gracing the event.
