Sherig conducts four-day meeting to finalise textbook

Dharamshala:  The Department of Education of the Central Tibetan Administration conducted a four-day meeting in Dharamshala

to finalise the revised editions of the Pre-Primary and Class 1 Tibetan language textbooks from 28 September to 1 October 2022. 

As per the review meeting of the Pre-Primary and Class 1 Tibetan Language Textbooks based on the curriculum formulated under the principles of the Basic Education Policy for Tibetans in Exile conducted in May this year, the textbook editor incorporated the necessary modifications.

The textbook review committee led by Gedun Dhonyoe, head of the Textbook section of the office of the Education Council.

The meeting was presided over by Gedun Dhonyoe, head of the Textbook section of the office of the Education Council, and was attended by textbook review committee members including Tenzin Pal (Tibetan language textbook editor), Mingchung (TCV Tibetan language mentor), Sangpo (THS Tibetan language mentor), Jamgon (TCV Suja Tibetan language teacher), Tenzin Palkyi (LTCV Tibetan language teacher), Bhagdo (UTCV Tibetan language teacher), Ven. Tenzin Choetso (Gangkyi Petoen School Tibetan language teacher), Jampa Palmo (UTCV Montessori teacher), Passang (Gangkyi Petoen School Montessori teacher), Tenzin Dolker (THS Dekyiling Pre-Primary School Headmistress).

The finalisation committee members altogether carried out a thorough discussion and made necessary changes to the draft during the meeting. The textbooks will soon be published and distributed in all Tibetan Schools. The meeting was funded by DANIDA.
