Education Kalon visited North-East Tibetan Schools

8th October, 2014: Mr. Ngodup Tsering Education Kalon for Department of Education, CTA, has attended the Golden Jubilee Celebration of CST Kalimpong as Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest for the opening ceremony was Dr. Lobsang Sangay, Sikyong, CTA.
Education Kalon addressed the students, staff members and public on the importance of education, preservation of mother tongue, ethical values and health. He also spoke about the significance and implementation of Basic Education Policy (BEP) for Tibetans in Exile and various programs of DoE like Teacher Professional Development (TPD) and Early Grade Reading (EGR) to improve reading skill of early grade students.

 

9th October, 2014: Honourable Sikyong and Education Kalon visited ITBCI (Indo-Tibet Buddhist Culture Institute) school and Old-age home, Kalimpong.
Later at the day, Kalon had a meeting with the students and staff members of CST Kalimpong. During the meeting with staff members, they had informal discussion on various issues related to the school.

 

10th October, 2014: Kalon Mr. Ngodup Tsering paid a visit to CST Ravangla and inspected each and every class. The students, staff members and local Tibetan public had an opportunity to listen to his talk and guidance.

 

 

11th October, 2014: Education Kalon visited former Thumi Sambhota School, Gangtok and met with the members of various Tibetan Associations/Committees. He also addressed the Tibetan people in Gangtok.

 

 

12th October, 2014: Education Kalon visited STS Pokhriabong and met with the staff members of the school. He has also addressed the students of the school. Honourable Kalon will visit CST Darjeeling on 13th and CST Sonada on 14th October, 2014
