Miao, Arunachal Pradesh: The Department of Education’s Counselling Section has successfully concluded the six-day winter leadership program for students of class VI to VIII of the Sambhota Tibetan School (STS), Miao, from 4 to 9 November 2024.

The workshop’s goal is to provide different opportunities for the students through club systems to enable student leadership. After this workshop, the school will form different clubs based on interests, needs and challenges. Students will lead the clubs, while teachers will join the clubs as mentors. The workshop covered Goal Setting, Tourism Games, Agriculture – Innovations, Climate Change & Technology, Artificial Intelligence, storytelling and the formation of extraordinary clubs at school.

A total of 59 students, consisting of 28 girls and 31 boys from class VI to VIII, took part in the program.

The inaugural function was attended by Tsering Dhondup (secretary, Miao Tibetan settlement), the President of PTA, counsellors from STS Darjeeling and STS Chandragiri, and volunteer teachers.

The Winter Leadership program, funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC), is a platform where participants will learn more about themselves and how to contribute towards resolving social issues productively. A similar workshop was held in Tibetan Children’s Village School, Ladakh, in June 2024.

This workshop is facilitated by CEO & Founder Adithya Subramanian, edventureX, social award-winning NGO, Telangana and his team.
