Nepal: The Department of Education in collaboration with the Snow Lion Foundation organised a week-long workshop on secular ethics for Tibetan communities in Nepal’s Kathmandu and Pokhara.
The workshop was led by SEE Learning facilitators Tsering Palzom and Geshe Tenzin Tselek.
From 20-28 August, the facilitators led the first workshop for Tibetan schools in Kathmandu comprising Namgyal High School, Namgyal Middle School, Atisha School, and Songtsen School. In Pokhara, the workshop was given to Manjushree School, Gangkar Tisi School, Lekshaytsel School and SOS Hermann Gmeiner School.
A total of 144 participants attended the workshop inspired by one of the four core commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama i.e. promotion of human values. The workshop mainly focussed on introducing the framework of Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning (SEE Learning). Various books on SEE Learning published by the Department of Education were introduced to the participants. This workshop was funded by Les Amis Du, Tibet Luxembourg.
