Dharamshala: The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, convened a meeting on 10 & 11 January 2024 to review and finalise the draft of the class VIII Mathematics workbook based on the curriculum formulated under the principles of the Basic Education Policy for Tibetans in Exile.

The two-day textbook revision meeting was attended by its committee members consisting Gedun Dhonyoe, head of the Education Council’s textbook section; Tenzin Tsephel, the editor of Mathematics textbook from Education Department; Sonam Gyalpo, TCV school’s Mathematics mentor; Pema Gyaltsen, the Principal of Sambhota Tibetan School Shimla who is also a former Math teacher; and Tenzin Pal, the Tibetan textbook editor of Education Department.

By February 2024, the department will publish and distribute the finalised edition of the class VIII Mathematics workbook to all Tibetan schools free of cost with funding and support from DANIDA.
