Dharamshala: Under the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) project, generously funded by USAID, the Department
of Education (DoE), Central Tibetan Administration, has undertaken the production and distribution of five children’s books, designed specifically for crèches and pre-primary children. The titles of these books are:
- སེང་ཕྲུག་དོམ་ཕྲུག (Seng-Truk Dom-Truk)
- མོ་ཊ་བཏང་ནས་འགྲོ། (Mota Tang-Na Dror)
- ཉིན་གཅིག (Nyin chik)
- ཉི་ཟླ་སྐར་གསུམ། (Nyi Da-kar Sum)
- གཡང་དཀར་ལུ་གུ། (Yang Kar Lu Gu)
The primary goal behind the creation of these children’s books is to offer invaluable support during the crucial developmental stages of young learners, thereby nurturing their growth and piquing their curiosity.
The Department of Education, in collaboration with experienced writers and illustrators, invested substantial time and effort to develop and produce these children’s books. Each book was carefully designed to engage and educate young minds, ensuring they are not only visually stimulating but also conducive to early learning and development. The content of the books was tailored to resonate with young children and to facilitate the acquisition of essential skills, knowledge, and values.
These five children’s books have been successfully distributed to 21 Crèches’, 43 Pre-Primary Schools and 5 Tibetan Community Libraries across India. The anticipated impact of these children’s books is profound. By providing a unique blend of cultural relevance and educational content, the books are expected to promote early literacy, social development, and cognitive skills among young learners. The cultivation of curiosity and critical thinking abilities will play a pivotal role in their developmental journey.
