
Dharamshala: The Education Council under the Education Department convened a two-day review meeting on Tibetan textbook for classes XI and XII at the DoE conference hall on 27 and 28 2026.
The meeting was presided over by Tibetan Education Officer and Deputy Secretary Ngodup Tenpa, Joint Secretary Gedun Dhonyoe, Head of the Textbook section of the office of the Education Council, Tenzin Pal (Tibetan language textbook editor). Other members were teachers and staff from various Tibetan academic institutions including General Secretary of TCV Mingchung (TCV Tibetan language mentor) and literature tutor Anam Soepa, instructor at CHTS, Sarah; Thupten Sangpo, Teacher at THS Mussoorie; Tenzin Choekyab (Tibetan language teacher at TCV Suja); Tsering Tashi (Tibetan Teacher at TCV Gopalpur); Herbertpur Sambhota Tibetan teacher Migmar
The committee reviewed the textbooks for Classes XI and XII, originally compiled and published in 2017 based on the curriculum framework established by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), India. The review focused on finalising the table of contents for the revised textbooks and identifying necessary additions and modifications to the syllabus. The textbook editors will provide final approval upon completion of the draft compilation.
