Education Secretary visited the Centre for Teacher Education at Bhuntar, near Kullu in Himachal Pradesh on 23 November. He was accorded warm reception by the Director Tashi Dhondup, staff and students. The chairman of local Tibetan Assembly, Paljor and representatives from Tibetan Settlement Office also came to receive him at the Centre. The Secretary was accompanied by Education Officer Tsering Phuntsok during the two day visit to Bhuntar and Manali.

During the visit, the Secretary inspected the various educational facilities at the teacher training centre and interacted with the students. He will also meet the teachers separately. The students presented inter-house quiz on Zoology.

The Centre was inaugurated on 3rd September 2012 as an off campus branch of Central University of Tibetan Studies, Sarnath. This year, 53 students got admission to pursue innovative 4-year integrated B. Sc. B. Ed. & B.A. B. Ed course.

On 24 November, they are scheduled to visit Sambhota Tibetan School at Manali before leaving for Delhi to attend the Governing Body meeting of CTSA, Delhi.
