Reitaku University Scholarship – 2026

The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), is pleased to announce that Reitaku University in Japan will be offering a one-year scholarship for two CTA staff members to study the Japanese language at their institution. This scholarship includes tuition fees, room and board, health insurance, and a round-trip airfare.

Please note that if awarded this scholarship, recipients are required to take study leave in accordance with Clause No. 22 of the CTA Staff Rules and Regulations. Moreover, pursuant to Section 4, Article 16 of the Scholarship Rules and Regulations of the Department of Education, CTA, recipients of this scholarship shall be deemed ineligible to apply for any other overseas scholarship administered by the Department.

Eligibility Criteria and Required Documents (Applicants must upload the following documents in PDF format through the provided link)

  1. The age of the applicant should not exceed 40 years as of January 1, 2026.
  2. A No Objection Letter from the applicant’s respective Department.
  3. The applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of service and obtain a letter from the Public Service Commission confirming this.
  4. A bachelor’s degree in any field, along with the corresponding mark sheets.
  5. A resume with a passport-sized photo affixed to the right side.
  6. A short Statement of Purpose (SOP).
  7. A valid and updated Certificate of Identity that covers the entire duration of the study and travel period.
  8. After completing their studies, the selected candidate should be willing to undertake Japanese language assignments for the CTA if needed.

Selection process:

  1. Eligible candidates will be invited to an interview by the selection committee on 24 October 2025.
  2. In case of a tie, priority will be given to the candidate with more years of service; if the tie continues, the candidate with the higher undergraduate score will be chosen.
