Summer Leadership Workshop for Sambhota Tibetan students in Mundgod

The Department of Education, CTA organized Summer Leadership Program for grades VIII to X students of Sambhota Tibetan School Camp 3 & Camp 6, Mundgod from May 2 -6, 2022 at Ex-Army Multipurpose Community Hall, Doeguling Tibetan Settlement, Mundgod. Mrs. Donkar Wangmo, Chief Counselor, Department of Education welcomed the participants and said the goal of this workshop is to provide different opportunities for the students through club systems to enable student leadership. After this workshop, the school will form different clubs based on interest, need and challenges. The clubs will be entirely led by students. The Counselors will be the facilitators and teachers will join the clubs as mentors.

Mrs. Lhakpa Dolma, TSO, Mundgod was the Chief Guest and in her inaugural speech, she has acknowledged and commended the Department of Education, CTA for various initiatives taken towards quality enhancement of Education for Tibetan children and also for the collaborative efforts between Parents Association, Local NGO’s and the Department of Education for the holistic development of the students under our care. She further encouraged the students to participate wholeheartedly and encouraged to make the best use of the learning at the workshop.

The inaugural function was attended by Deputy Speaker of Local Assembly, Principal & Headmasters of STS Mudgod, President of local Tibetan Cooperative Society, Presidents of different local NGOs and Representatives from the different Monasteries.

This workshop is facilitated by Mr. Adithya Subramanian, CEO & Founder, KAARMIC Education & adventureX, social award winning NGO, Telangana and his team. The topics that will be covered for the five days are: Goal Setting, Tourism Game, Agriculture – Innovations, Planting Microgreens, Foreign Language, Climate Change & Technology, Energy Audit of the school/building, Productive software and websites, Story Telling & Theatre & finally formation of extraordinary clubs at School.

This is a workshop where participants will learn more about themselves and how to productively contribute towards resolving social issues.

Mr. Jamyang Wangyal, Joint Secretary/Counselor, Department of Educaiton said the vote of thanks.

Total number of 124 students participated in this workshop. Of these 73 are males and 51 females.
