Tibetan Educators Attain Differentiated Instruction and Gender-Responsive Pedagogy Training

Dharamshala: The three-day workshop on Differentiated Instruction and Gender-Responsive Pedagogy organised by the Department of Education, CTA was convened on 1 June with an aim to equip the teachers with the understanding of the need of differentiating classroom instructions based on the diversity of learners in the classroom, key characteristics and aspects of gender-responsive pedagogy, lesson planning and formative assessment. 

The workshop was attained by around 32 teachers from Sambhota Schools across India and was led by facilitators Dr Kalsang Wandu (Field representative, Alinea International) and Tenzin Dorjee (Head of Academic Section, DoE).

During the 3-day workshop, the two facilitators applied various strategies by providing the participants with pre-reading articles and collaborative assignments. Participants were allowed to work and discuss in groups and share their learning during the sessions. The facilitators initiated the discussion and responded to the queries and feedback provided by the participants.

Tenzin Dorjee shared a brief report of the 3-day workshop and thanked Tsering Tsomo, Principal of STS Kalimpong for hosting the workshop. He also thanked the staff for supporting and making all the necessary arrangements for the successful organisation of the workshop funded by Global Affairs Canada through Alinea International.
