Virtual School Leadership Training Programs Underway

Dharamshala:   As a part of the School Leadership Strengthening Program, the Department of Education, CTA in collaboration with Alokit is organising leadership training for a new batch of school leaders from 7 September 2021, and two follow-up mentoring programs for the school leaders from 14 and 21 September 2021 respectively. 

The school leadership training program for the new batch of school leaders consist of 20 principals and headteachers from TCV, STSS and THF. The focus of the school leadership training is school improvement plans and instructional leadership. The first follow-up mentoring program is for 17 south zone school leaders who participated in the school leadership training program held physically in Jan 2020 and the follow-up virtual program from December 2020 to March 2021. The other follow-up mentoring program is for the 17 north zone school leaders who participated in the school leadership training program held virtually in January 2021. The follow-up mentoring program is to support the school leaders in developing and implementing the school improvement plan and enhance their instructional leadership skills as part of their continuous professional development.

Considering the safety and wellbeing of the school leaders during the COVID-19 pandemic situation, all the training programs are held virtually and will complete by December 2021. The program consists of workshops and sharing sessions, a learning circle for better engagement and a one-on-one call for individual support.

All the school leadership training programs are funded by Global Affairs Canada.
