Dharamshala: The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, held two days’ meeting to review class VIII Social Science textbook based on the Basic Education Policy for Tibetans in exile at the conference hall of the Tibetan Computer and Resource Centre of the Department of Finance, Central Tibetan Administration from 19th to 20th June 2023.

After completing the review of the class 7 Social Science textbook last year, this year, the review committee has conveyed two days’ meeting to review the class 8 social science textbook. Through the meeting, the committee has updated and included information and additional chapters to ensure that the textbook will benefit students in maximum capacity.

The meeting was chaired by the Additional  Secretary and former Social Science editor Sonam Sangpo, Head of the Education Council’s textbook section Gedun Dhonyoe and Social Science textbook editor Passang Tsering. The members of the committee includes subject teacher representatives from schools (TCV Upper: Tenzin Wangchuk and Lhazom Tsering, TCV Suja: Ngawang Tsetan and Tashi Lhamo, Mewoen Tsuglag Petoen School: Kunsang Dorji) and Tashi Tsomo from the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives.

The two day meeting has been sponsored by Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) through CICED.
