SEE Learning Educator’s Workshop Held for Northeast Tibetan Schools

Miao Choephelling Settlement: The Department of Education (DoE) of the Central Tibetan Administration has conducted a three day SEE Learning Educator’s (Social, Emotional, Ethical Learning) workshop on the education of heart and mind at Miao Sambhota Tibetan School from 21st to 23rd Dec 2022. The workshop was attended by 12 pre-primary teachers from 7 Northeast Tibetan schools and 17 teachers and staff of Miao Sambhota Tibetan School.

The workshop was co-facilitated by Geshe Tenzin Tselek, Buddhist Philosophy lecturer of the College for Higher Tibetan Studies and Tsering Palzom, DoE staff.

Emory University’s SEE Learning Program International and Senior SEE Learning Facilitator Tsondue Samphel also facilitated the workshop virtually.

Following the closing remarks by Tsering Palzom on the workshop, two participants shared their experiences from the workshop in the presence of Miao settlement officer as chief guest along with LTA chairman. The chief guest spoke on the significance of secular ethics and highlighted the teaching of secular ethics lessons in school. Vote of thanks was delivered by Karma Tsetan, Headmaster of Miao Sambhota Tibetan School.

On 24th Dec, Geshe Tenzin Tselek spoke to the parents of Miao Choephelling Settlement on SEE Learning.

The three-day workshop was funded by the VIMALA association.
